Objective:
The
objective of the award of the Short Term Visiting Fellowship is
to provide an opportunity to a Scientist employed in a Medical
College, Research Institute, etc and actually engaged in
research in the field of Biomedical Sciences to learn latest
advanced research techniques in use in other institutes in
India.
2.
Application:
2.1
Application should be submitted on the prescribed form to
the Director-General, Indian Council of Medical Research, Ansari
Nagar, New Delhi-110029
2.2
The application should be sent through the Head of the
Institute where the candidate is employed
3. Eligibility:
3.1
A Scientist holding a whole time post in a Medical
College, Research Institute, University etc and actually engaged
in the field of Biomedicine.
3.2
The research technique on which training is desired
should be directly related to the research work.
3.3
The training desired to be received should be specific
and not of a generalized nature.
3.4
Full facilities and laboratory equipment to undertake the
research techniques in which training is desired should be
available in the Institute where employed.
3.5
The Head of the Institution should certify the absolute
need for the training desired by the Scientist and that the
necessary equipment required for carrying out the particular
research technique are available in the Institute and shall be
made available to the Scientist.
3.6
The fellowship may not be available for training in more
than one Institute.
3.7
The Scientist should himself secure placement for his
training in an Institute and attach in original, the letter of
placement with his application.
3.8
There should be an interval of al least one year before
the Scientist reapplies for training under this programme.
4.
Tenure:
The
tenure of the fellowship is up to a period not exceeding
three months.
5.
Value:
A
single railway fare (as per eligibility) each way is admissible
from the place where employed to the place where training is
desired to be taken. In addition, an allowance of Rs.200/- per day shall be
paid for the actual period of training received at an Institute.
No incidental charges or any other grant for
contingencies.
5.A Leave
No
leave will be admissible during fellowship.
However during on emergency, leave may be granted during
which period no allowance (per diem charges) will be admissible.
6.
Assignment Report:
A
report (in duplicate) on the training received shall be
submitted on completion of the fellowship to the
Director-General, Indian Council of Medical Research, Ansari
Nagar, New Delhi-110029 through the guide under whom the
training is received.
7.
Utilization Report:
At
the end of six moths from the date of completion of the training
a utilization certificate, in prescribed form, on the training
received by the Scientists shall be submitted to the Council by
the Head of the Institute.
