Declaration of Results

1.      The selection of the candidates for award of research studentship will be done after technical evaluation of the research plan by a panel of experts. About 500 students will be selected.

2.      The results will be displayed on ICMR website in April 2010. 

3.      No sanction letters will be issued individually to the students/ guide. The students should print out the results from the website for future reference. Upto 25 students may be selected from any medical college. 

4.       It may be noted that the Council wants to encourage participation of students from all parts of the country. However despite efforts in the last few years, very few applications are received from some parts of the country. In order to encourage research and motivate more students from these parts the Council has reserved 50 seats for STS 2010 from rural medical colleges or from those States/Regions/Medical colleges from were very few applications are received.  The selections for these would be made on case to case basis or as decided by DG ICMR.   Preference may also be given to students who were unable to complete their STS 2009 project and who re-apply for STS 2010 with the same proposal. 

5.      The decision of the Council, in this regard will be final. Requests for reconsideration will not be entertained and reasons for rejection of applications for award of studentship will not be provided.
