ANNOUNCEMENT FOR STS 2010

1.            On behalf of Dr VM Katoch, Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research and Secretary, Department of Health Research, applications are invited from interested undergraduate medical students to participate in the STS 2010 Program.

2.            The value of the studentship will be Rs. 2500/- per month for 2 months’ duration and is meant to be a stipend for the student.

3.            The studentship is non-transferable and cannot be given to another student in the event of non acceptance after getting approval.

4.            The student should obtain a clearance from the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) if the proposal involves research on human participants and from Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) if the work involves use of animals. Informed consent is to be obtained for research on human participants. 

5.            The student is required to submit the application form and proposal online which will be evaluated by the Council. Results will be announced in April 2010 and list of selected students displayed on the website. If selected, the student is expected to complete the project in any two given months between April and September 2010 and submit the report before the last date of submission. The detailed guidance on this will be available at the time the results are declared. The students will be awarded stipend and certificate only if their report is approved.
