I am an MCI registered and trained hematopathologist with a fellowship in hematopathology and 7 years of experience in diagnosing and reporting blood cancers in various prestigious hospital and research centres and currently working as a scientist in Indian council of medical research. My institute has a common instrumentation facility with all the state of the art equipments like- Multiparametric Flowcytometer, Next generation sequencer, capillary electrophoresis machine, Bioanalyser and Nano drop machine, PCR workstation with a dedicated bio-informatics team. I have been a part of NABL accreditation process and am familiar with all the prerequisites and documentation involved in Quality control procedures in the ISO 2001-2010 NABL certification and CAP accreditation. I have good knowledge of morphology, flowcytometry ofblood and bone marrow samples diagnostics, including CD34 enumeration and MNC count with Pre and post BM transplant conditioning regimes and Minimal Residual disease. I also have adequate knowledge of molecular techniques like PCR, RQ PCR, and Sanger sequencing, Next generation sequencing (Ion proton and Ilumina platforms). I am also trained in reporting of histopathological samples and cytology including application of immunohistochemistry. Experience in working and functioning of NACO approved blood bank and component preparation, cryoprecipate and routine grouping and cross matching by gel card technique. My basic areas of interests are haematological malignancies in children and adults. I am currently working on the mutational targets and exome sequencing of acute myeloid leukemia in children. In future I wish to work on the improvement of iron deficiency status in India population especially pregnant women and adolescent children.
