ICMR is conducting workshops/programs in Bioethics in different parts of the country to sensitize the researchers and trainers.

                   Short Term : 

 q   One 3 days’ workshop as continuing medical education program

    q     Three day workshop for researchers/trainers

Long Term : 

         q 8 weeks program - 4 weeks of intensive course with 2 weeks of basics of ethics, law and philosophy and 2 weeks of specific emerging areas presenting ethical problems, especially drug trials, genomics, assisted reproductive technologies, followed by 4 weeks period for project writing to be submitted to ICMR for funding or preparing an article for submission.

         q  From third year onwards 6 months’ training for 6 persons will be initiated through visits to Centers for appropriate subjects, as critical mass of teachers is insufficient at the ICMR Headquarters. The faculty is scattered in various locations in India. The curriculum prepared for this purpose would be tested and evaluated after modification through short courses arranged in such a way that the non-ICMR Institutions and ICMR Institutions at the same location or in nearby region could be used to give best education in specific areas. The clutter of such institutions are in the metropolitan cities of Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai and Mumbai.
