Ethics Committee For a: FERCAP, FERCI, SIDCER etc .

 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Ethics Committees had been prepared under ICMR-FERCAP (Forum for Ethics Review Committees of Asia Pacific) joint initiative which have been further modified by FERCAP and reduced in number (Downloadable SOPs).

	Member Secretary of the Forum for Ethics Committees for Asia Pacific (FERCAP) is in ICMR Headquarters. Through this forum there has been interaction with other regional countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, China, South Korea and Taiwan.

 Forum for Ethics Committee Review in India (FERCI) has been set up under FERCAP with some members from bioethics cell in the organising committee of FERCI.

 All the different regional fora for ethics committee are being brought under a single head, namely “Strategic Initiative for Developing Capacity in Ethical Review” (SIDCER) of which ICMR is a founding member

 US, Canada, Germany and France have collaboration with ICMR in the area of bioethics.
